To be used for
Stearic acid is widely used as an additive in industrial preparations. It is also used for suppositories, coating enteric pills, ointments and for coating bitter remedies. It is used in the manufacture of stearates of aluminum, zinc and other metals, stearin soap for opodeldoc, candles, phonograph records, insulators, modeling compounds, impregnating plaster of Paris, vanishing creams and other cosmetics, stearate driers, lubricants, soaps, pharmaceuticals, shoe and metal polishes and food packaging. It is also used as an accelerator activator and dispersing agent and softener in rubber compounds.
